Participants will be able to participate in Sparring from beginner to advanced levels. The camp will also delve into the history of Northstar Jujitsu and provide further details of the practise of Zanshin. At Northstar Jujitsu, students learn the fundamentals of Jujitsu through the practice of atemi waza (striking techniques), nage waza (throwing techniques), and katame waza (grappling techniques).
The core techniques that will be taught at the Winter Camp are designed to help students develop the correct body mechanics and movement patterns to execute techniques correctly and safely. Additionally, students will learn the principles of timing, positioning, and distance in order to maximize effectiveness when applying techniques.
Throughout the Winter Camp, students will be able to participate in Sparring. Sparring is an important part of Jujitsu training and allows students to apply their techniques in a realistic and safe environment. Sparring also allows for the development of problem solving skills, as students must use the techniques they have learned to adapt to various situations and opponents. In addition to the physical training, the Winter Camp will also explore the history of Northstar Jujitsu.
Participants will gain an understanding of the lineage of the school, as well as its core principles and philosophies. Furthermore, the camp will provide an overview of Zanshin, which is the core training principle of Northstar Jujitsu. Zanshin is a state of heightened awareness, which is integral to the practice of Jujitsu. Overall, the Winter Camp is an excellent opportunity for students of all levels to learn the core techniques of Jujitsu, and to gain an understanding of the history and principles of Northstar Jujitsu.
