Choosing to train alone.

Alone.

Learning is a very personal thing, and we all have our preferred ways of learning. Some prefer a visual approach, and some prefer reading. The key is working out what suits you. In these times it pays to see if you can use an online platform to continue your education. Or whether you just prefer a hands-on live approach. Many of my students just prefer the more personal approach to their training so choose the online system. Some even go a little further and prefer their reviews and even gradings are assessed on video, of which they record and send to me. I am totally open to making sure that the students are comfortable in whatever method they use. I have taught open physical classes for many years. It has only just occurred to me that some students in particular beginners may be intimidated by attending class. It can be quite daunting walking into a new class for the first time especially when it is full of people that appear to know what they are doing.

So now I have the perfect solution. If you are one of these people that prefers to learn in your own time, at your own pace, and needs some time to build their confidence before having the courage to enter a regular class then the online Mastery Academy is perfect for you. I make you feel very comfortable and work with you to get the most out of your online class experience. All of my students have their own reasons why they prefer to join me online, and they are unique to their circumstance.

Online learning is not new. I recorded and posted my first online you tube tutorial in 2010 and has now over 2.3 million views. There are literally thousands of online tutorials spanning every possible subject. The online academy that I have set up is not a short cut to getting a black belt. With the combination of Zoom, YouTube, audios and PDF’s I have set up a far more comprehensive program than my regular physical class program. I have also set up assignments and tests at regular intervals. All designed to give you a complete education on the theory and physical aspects including the history of NorthStar Ju Jitsu.

As I have said before, this is not any easy path. No one is going to do it for you. You will need to take on your biggest opponent, yourself. You cannot just sit and coast your way through an in-person dojo class. It takes a level of self-motivation, discipline and self-determination. All required qualities for achieving a black belt, doing it online, these qualities manifest in a different way.

If you consistently apply yourself to the modules of the online program, as you work with me personally, you will see incredible and vast improvements quickly.
