Martial Arts near me.

martial arts near me

As parents we definitely want what is the best for our children. As adults we race from pillar to post, juggling work, family, friends and we want to stay fit and healthy. The time that we have allocated for ourselves tends to be the last priority. I try to have my time each morning from 7-9am.  I meditate, stretch and work out in my home gym. I have my facility at home. Having my martial arts near me, I am less inclined to opt out. I understand that for most of us, having a home facility to a luxury and just not an option

Many modern apartment blocks have a basic gym facility that you can use to maintain your general fitness, but you will need to visit a proper martial arts facility to learn the moves from a qualified source. When I was training initially, having martial arts near me was perfect for keeping me motivated. It was a short car ride to my studio. When I moved, it was not so convenient for me and I felt my motivation start to decrease. Battling peak hour traffic to try and make the 6.30pm class I started to make excuses to not attend.

Sometimes it is certainly worth the travel for great instruction. I used to travel 10000km to train with my teachers in Japan, and I have students come from all over Sydney to attend my classes and workshops. Maybe not 10000km but enough of a distance when they could find a studio closer to their home.

I am lucky now that my martial arts near me is convenient and in a great location.  The Balmain dojo (studio) is centrally located in Sydney’s inner west, really close to the Sydney CBD. The dojo itself is a federation style room with high ceilings and is light and airy. It is clean and has traditional style training mats called tatami mats. It reflects a traditional feel and is really conducive to great classes.

There is plenty of street parking, and the buses run past regularly. All the classes are designed for the busy person. You stretch, you warm up, you do the techniques and get a really great whole-body work out. At the same time learning the great moves of Northstar Ju Jitsu. I understand that having the martial arts near me that ticks all the boxes for you is a bonus. Northstar Ju Jitsu has 10 independently run dojo’s throughout Sydney and Perth. Check out the locations to see if there is one near you.
