Book Reviews and partner training.

Thank you to all of my readers, for giving my books a go. To everyone that has left a review, I’m grateful to all readers for sharing honest feedback — every comment helps me grow as a writer. If you enjoyed “The Last Warrior,” I’d love it if you could leave a short review on Amazon — it really helps other readers discover the story.

It is not easy being a writer. It can takes months, even years to write a book. I say it with hand on heart, that I do appreciate all feed back, especially positive, uplifting feedback that lights up the love and effort that has gone into the writing and production of my books.

My current personal manifesto.

Love – full contact

Do It now. Don’t wake up in the morning wishing you were waking up the day before.

Trust yourself. Don’t let other people say what you need.

Work hard, don’t rely on others to pay your way.

Enjoy good health…while you can.

Moderation in everything.

Your word is law, keep it.

Every life on earth has a right to exist.

We are all going to die, be mindful of your limited existence and get living.

Check to see if you are ghosting someone. You might not realise it.

If you say you are busy that just highlights your priorities.

Smile, say G’day and get on with everyone. We are a mixing pot of nationalities, and we are not all going to get on. Meet an angry face with a smile.

Guard your home with vigilance.

Check out my book, The Warrior up grade, for a full look on how to improve every aspect of your life.

Reviews, comments and training.

How is your training going?

Are you making it to the dojo twice per week? There is still room to train with me on my master’s academy if you want an extra challenge.

One of the questions that I am often asked is how do I grade or train without a partner?

That is a very good question. As I grade students moving up the belts, online I am learning more and more about their resilience, and what strategies they are coming up with to learn, improve and master each level. They are very adaptable, they buy equipment to enhance their training only when they need it , removing the need for a partner. That’s what martial arts is all about. Spirit and courage to join me and have faith in that I will guide you along a sound path of martial arts.

There are plenty of single man techniques, such as what I call multiple defence. A short, fast and powerful set of basic moves that can be practised anywhere and any time. There is one per belt. All you need is a small flat place. More information

I offer a family discount. That is, you only pay once for your household. So families can train together. Most students work it out. They find a way through the limitations. Finding sparring partners is a good idea. I travelled the world just dropping in to wherever I could find. I found all kinds of dojo’s and made some great friends.

North Star Ju Jitsu is a first-generation style of martial arts based on traditional schools that have remained true to their heritage from antiquity up until recently. The master’s no longer run their schools. I learned for many years from the Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu., and I relish the knowledge that I was taught a tough pre-war style of the original moves that Kondo sensei learned from the son of the founder, Tokimune Takeda. I have also been a student of Aso Sensei, SAW Founder for the last 36 years. Aso Sensei developed his school from Judo, wrestling, sambo and karate. This is a perfect way to study the old and the new.

I realised that teaching Daito Ryu was not an option. It is hard enough to get people to commit to train for a black belt and the way I was taught Daito Ryu, it’s just too tough.

So in order to preserve the knowledge of these two great styles. I have morphed the techniques into a syllabus that introduces their fundamentals.  So students are learning Daito Ryu and SAW without them even knowing it. So all of the white to black belt Daito Ryu moves are within the Northstar syllabus. They provide a solid base for everything else retaining all of the traditional aspects the differentiate Northstar from the many hybrid martial arts that are being taught.
