Lock in contracts

Lock in contracts a must if you are serious.

Many other martial arts schools advertise that they have no lock in contracts. Lock in contracts set the scene for the students, the teachers and the dojo. They lay it out right up front the terms and conditions and what to expect for the first 6 months of your training. It sets your first goal and without a goal the beginner tends to lose their way. It is the same for any course that you sign up for.

We ask the question, we believe in our system and product and know from vast experience that in martial arts it takes a minimum of 6 months to get value out of your commitment. Six months is not long. It enables you to set a goal to work towards your first belt. For many children, this is their first experience in setting, working towards then achieving a goal. In a day and age where immediate gratification is the norm, we are proud to be able to introduce the new student to a method that asks you to commit for a short period of time. It asks the question; have you got what it takes? If you know you can’t just quit the moment you want, you develop a discipline to keep going even when you don’t feel like it.

This is what the martial arts is all about. Self-discipline, self-control, confidence and self-esteem. And having a minimum of 6 months to help you lock in those great habits should be standard with every serious martial arts school. In fact, if a martial art studio does not have a lock in contract, I would question their level of commitment to their students.

Some parents are worried that their child may be too young to commit for 6 months. But I say, how do you know unless you try. With most young students that first 6 months sets them on the right track and they enjoy their martial arts training for many years. In many cases, it is often the parents who cannot commit and not the child.
